What is instant execution?

Instant execution is a method you can use to open and close positions on the market at the exact price indicated. If the price changes while your order is being placed, it will be rejected. When compared to market execution, instant execution:

  • Often results in requotes
  • Takes longer (orders are only processed after confirming requoted prices)
  • Makes it more difficult to trade during times of high volatility
  • Often involves fixed spreads that are wider than the real market spreads

At XM, we always provide you with superior market execution, ensuring your orders are placed quickly and at the requested price. This also means that you’re almost 100% guaranteed to have your order filled. Learn more about market execution.
