To enter a competition, first select the account you’ll use to participate from the slider on the left-hand side of the screen. You’ll see all your accounts on that slider and switching through them will automatically show you whether the account you’ve selected meets the requirements of the competition you want to join or not.
In the competition area you can see all the open and upcoming competitions for both Real and Demo accounts. There, you’ll find the competition terms, the start and end date as well as the 1st prize.
If the competition is already underway, clicking on the competition information card will also reveal more detailed information like the rank and statistics for each participant in the competition.
Yes! You can enter multiple competitions at the same time with different accounts, assuming these accounts meet the competition’s requirements. However, each individual account can ONLY enter one competition at a time.
Performance is calculated using the following formula:
Performance= (Equity (current) — D + W / Equity (initial)) -1
Equity (current)= Your equity at every evaluation point, typically every 10 minutes
Equity (initial)= Your equity at the point of entering the competition
D= Deposits that have taken place in the period after joining the competition
W= Withdrawals that have taken place in the period after joining the competition
Your performance determines your ranking in relation to other competitors
Your performance is NOT positively or negatively affected by any deposits or withdrawals you make in your trading account. However it is important to note that a withdrawal can lead to elimination from the competition. You can read more about Competition removal below.
Although it’s not a rule for all competitions, some competitions have multiple tiers, particularly those requiring Real accounts. Tiers are different equity entry criteria for the same competition. For example, competition XYZ has Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3. Tier 1 has an equity entry requirement of $1,000, Tier 2 has a requirement of $500, and Tier 3 has a requirement of $100. The competition is the same however you must have more equity to join Tier 1. Tier 1 would typically have better prizes than Tier 2 and 3.
Competitions are available to both MT4 and MT5 accounts and you are free to use an expert advisor if you wish.
Yes, you can. Performance is calculated based on net equity changes so the P&L of existing open trades is ignored. Change to the P&L in open positions after entering a competition are taken into consideration in the competitors performance.
Ranking is calculated based on the performance of all competitors. At every calculation interval (typically every 10 minutes) the performance of all competitors is calculated and subsequently sorted in descending order. The higher the performance the higher the ranking. Competitors with zero performance due to no trading activity are displayed during the duration of the competition but are excluded from the prizes.
In cases where the competitors share the same ranking, they both win the same prize.
To see the results of a competition that has ended, click on the ‘Ended’ button and find the respective competition. For ongoing competitions, the results are displayed on the dashboard where all the statistics are displayed.
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files. When you visit a website, the website sends the cookie to your computer. Your computer stores it in a file located inside your web browser.
Cookies do not transfer viruses or malware to your computer. Because the data in a cookie does not change when it travels back and forth, it has no way to affect how your computer runs, but they act more like logs (i.e. they record user activity and remember stateful information) and they get updated every time you visit a website.
We may obtain information about you by accessing cookies, sent by our website. Different types of cookies keep track of different activities. For example, session cookies are used only when a person is actively navigating a website. Once you leave the website, the session cookie disappears.
Why are cookies useful?
We use functional cookies to analyse how visitors use our website, as well as track and improve our website’s performance and function. This allows us to provide a high-quality customer experience by quickly identifying and fixing any issues that may arise. For example, we might use cookies to keep track of which website pages are most popular and which method of linking between website pages is most effective. The latter also helps us to track if you were referred to us by another website and improve our future advertising campaigns.
Another use of cookies is to store your log in sessions, meaning that when you log in to the Members Area to deposit funds, a "session cookie" is set so that the website remembers that you have already logged in. If the website did not set this cookie, you will be asked for your login and password on each new page as you progress through the funding process.
In addition, functional cookies, for example, are used to allow us to remember your preferences and identify you as a user, ensure your information is secure and operate more reliably and efficiently. For example, cookies save you the trouble of typing in your username every time you access our trading platform, and recall your preferences, such as which language you wish to see when you log in.
